Stowmarket Town 2 Fakenham Town 3

Two great headers from Stowmarket Town skipper Recee Langridge got Town back on leave terms, yet wasn’t enough keep the points at Greens Meadow. 

A very early goal Fakenham put Stow on the back foot straight out of the blocks.  Fakenham held their lead for just 6 minutes until Langridge found the net with his first header of the match. Parity for Stow was also short lived, as Fakenham were backin front just 4 minutes later. There was less than 15 minutes gone and the crowd had been entertained with three goals already. 

Stowmarket were the better side for large parts of the second half and appeared to find their reward when they won a penalty just before half time. Unfortunately player mananger David Lorimer didn’t find the net with the penalty. Fakenham went straight up the other end and won a penalty of their own. To rub salt into the home sides wounds the visitors found the net to extend their lead to 3-1. The first half drama was not finished there, as Langridge found the neat with his second great header of the match, to bring Stowmarket back into the game.

The sides went in 2-3 at the break and despite some great football from the Old Gold & Black. Stowmarket were frustrated and was unable to find another equaliser and Fakenham made the journey back to Norfolk with all three points.
